2016 has been a tumultuous year. As it draws to a close, we at Disability Rights Oregon are reflecting on the work we have done to protect and advocate for people with disabilities. While we celebrate our progress, we also want to ask our community to join us in pushing harder for opportunity, access, and choice. The new year brings challenges of threatened state budget cuts and a new federal administration that has not signaled whether it will robustly enforce disability rights. In this period of uncertainty, we must be ready to defend the services and supports that people rely on to stay independent, healthy, and safe. DRO fights for these services and supports every day, at every level.
So we are celebrating the holidays with a series called the “12 Days of Disability Rights.” These are a dozen challenges that DRO has stepped up to fight on behalf of our community and will continue pushing forward with your help.
25 out of 100 Oregonians have a disability. Please consider a $25, $50, or $100 tax-deductible donation today so that we can make sure all Oregonians can live in a safe, accessible, inclusive community.
